Valentine's Day. This day can be a lot of things. But this year my husband and I did things a lot different then what we have done in the past.
My husband had to work like everyone else but I didn't. I purposely made sure I didn't have any classes to teach this day. So this is how my day was spent.
To kick off the day I made pink heart-shaped pancakes for my son and me to enjoy together. We ate them with blueberries and bananas.
My husband went to work in the morning so I gave my first gift to him before he left (the mouse pad). He was very surprised and commented that work was always going to be fun now that he would see my face and his son's face each day.
I spent the morning cleaning, I like my house clean for surprises. At noon I got my own surprise. My husband came home for the day! With him, he brought chocolate (knows my heart) and a plant (so much love). Apparently my husband looked at my search history to see what to get me- plants! Always plants.
My little family of three got to spend the afternoon together. It was very fun. We played with toys and chased around couch and of course, ate chocolate. My husband and I made dinner together. We had steak (pre-marinated), mashed potatoes, garlic bread, and lemonade. Couldn't ask for a better meal!
Valentine's Day turned out pretty well this year. I found that it doesn't hurt to make an effort and it actually can be awesome! I love my husband and my son. I am so grateful that I have this little family.
